An Observer
Great to see 4 Canadians score. Not so good to let 5 in though nfitz

Bison44
There is the official notice. No need to link to 3 more notices from reddit, Davidson or Northern tribune saying the exact same thing.
Ozzie_the_parrot
If you view the official websites as sufficient why even bother with a fan messageboard? Northern Tribune make the effort to put out content while probably earning close to diddlysquat for doing so. They deserve some respect for doing something you hardly ever do which is contributing something positive. Meanwhile back on topic. Belotti no longer a target apparently: He was probably the plan B option if Insigne had not signed on the dotted line.

El Hombre
Currently playing LAFC but haven't seen any lineups. All I know is Perruzza scored again. Second in as many games. Really hope he breaks through this season. Bison44
Bison44
Member when Achara went crazy in the preseason a couple years back?? At least perruzza scoring makes it harder to send him down to the reserve team.
Trois Reds
Speaking of Achara and Peruzza, TFC won 2-1 today, and they were the goal scorers. That's all I have, no lineups, sorry. nfitz and Bison44

Is there a rule about DP's etc?? He’s on a DP contract. Absolutely no way in hell the revs would be willing to trade for Jozy on his existing salary. They also already have 3dps in Gil, Buska, and Bou….and have turned down transfer bid for a few. Jozy has to get bought out, and then will subsequently sign for 300k or less with possible incentives. They are building a team for a good run in CCL.
Bison44
We can trade him and its their problem on how to fit him into their DP situation. Seems like we had an extra DP years back and we wangled our way out of it.
Ozzie_the_parrot
MLS teams can buy out the guaranteed contract of one player per offseason without it affecting the salary cap. https://www.mlssoccer.com/about/roster-rules-and-regulations Buyout of Guaranteed Contract A club may buyout one player (including a Designated Player) who has a Guaranteed Contract during the offseason and free up the corresponding Salary Budget space. Such a buyout is at the club's expense. A club may not free up space in the Salary Budget with a buyout of a player's contract during the season. If a club buys out a player's contract during the season, the buyout amount will be charged against the club's Salary Budget. This tweet even implies contract negotiations have been taking place: Edited February 4, 2022 by Ozzie_the_parrot

Technically as you say it could be a trade, however given Altidore's salary hit (3.6 million) New England having 3 DPS, Toronto trading Dwyer so they wouldn't have to use their one buyout on him, so a buyout makes the most sense. TFC gets rid of Altidore, Altidore gets his money, New England gets him at a much lower salary (Non-DP) .as @Shway says it will not be a trade. narduch and Shway 1

Yup, NE is only grabbing him BECAUSE he’s being bought out is how I see it. Buksa will start ahead of him. It’s possible this works for Toronto because Altidores salary with NE mitigates what Toronto has to pay for the buyout but I’m just speculating. Unnamed Trialist
Not to be a party-pooper, but Jiménez is a weak player, and is largely unproven. He is nowhere near what Victor Vázquez had been, it's a rather odd signing. He has a 3rd tier Spain career, does ok in Poland on a modest team, and now he is going to TFC for what, as I see it, is a deal way better than he deserves. If TFC think he could have a role, great. If he responds well and is ready to take the next step up, at 28, then even better. He is not moving to a club at his level, however; he's taking a big step up. On paper, still, he's really scrub in Spanish terms. For what you are paying him there are about 20 other guys in Spanish 2nd division, or equivalent, who are better prepared to do the job than he is and would accept a similar deal. Even his agency is a weak local entity with lower tier Spaniards, pretty well exclusively. Stryker911, Free kick and Metro
