Hopefully not correct, I have tickets for my first CMNT games since the qualifying round of Nations League.

Probably good for reporters to actually read the release:

https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001386/ontario-updating-public-health-measures-and-guidance-in-response-to-omicron

its even in the title of the section.

There was probably no point in having restrictions for outdoor sporting events for the next four weeks, because there are no outdoor sporting events in the next four weeks.

If attendance is canceled for this one it’s probably a one off.

Good point. I think this will be dealt with as a one-off

Was there a date given that the current restrictions are in place until? I know the Raptors and Leafs cancelled all tickets until Jan 21st I believe, so perhaps at this time Jan 30th is still unaffected. 75% capacity wouldn't be too bad tbf if that is in fact the case

Oh boy..

Maybe we’ve giving ourselves too much credit as well, but this is pretty good shit right here.  Someone forward this to ‘freezing cold takes’ on Twitter

Sadly, the usual suspects from our own fanbase on twitter will probably take the bait and get into a twitter war on this.  Just chuckle and let it go people.

On the heels of a sports year that was chock full of surprises, Guardian US contributors make their bold predictions for the months to come.

Canada will reach the World Cup quarter-finals
Canada haven’t even come close to qualifying for the World Cup since their first and only appearance back in 1986. That will change this year – they’re currently top of the Concacaf octagonal after going eight games unbeaten – owing to a glut of young stars who have developed into major contributors at European clubs, among them Champions League medal-holder Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Jonathan David (Lille), Cyle Larin (Besiktas) and Tajon Buchanan (Club Brugge). As ever, so much is down to the draw. But if John Herdman’s side can manage to avoid a true group of death, look for Canada make it out of pool play and match Costa Rica’s Concacaf coming-out of eight years ago.

(For those of you who try to avoid the Covid thread like the plague- as you should)

I wonder if this is the case would the CSA just play the game closed doors in Florida, making travel for the two road games very easy.

Is there a chance of the Jan window not even happening, especially if the big clubs flex their muscle on not releasing players because of health and safety concerns that come with travel.

My understanding, from arms length but good sources, is that FIFA wants the games to happen and has been quite adamant that they happen where and when they are scheduled
