With that draw, the absolute worst case scenario for Canada now is: MEX 27, USA 27, PAN26. That’s the absolute worst it can be for us since they all play each other twice.

Irrelevant to us since neither can catch us, but El Salvador keeping their thin hopes alive. A loss would mathematically eliminate Honduras

So.....2nd, 3rd, and 4th separated by 1 point with 4 matches remaining, and they each have to play each other once. We sit 4 points clear with our next 3 matches against virtually eliminated teams?

Yeah, good that Mexico will continue to be desperate.  I would have preferred a Panama loss tonight to further separate the lead pack and increase the likelihood that the match against them is meaningless in March, but it was probably utopian to expect Panama to suddenly crumble completely and give up 8 or 9 points this window.

The situation is that is was a dumb yellow for Tajon to take.  With Davies likely out in March as well, we need all the wing help we can get.  He could have easily dicked around on the ball a bit to kill the clock without doing it so excessively that the ref gave him a yellow. It was so blatant.  Dumb card to take.

Should be noted that a draw in the MEX-PAN game would drop our auto-qualifying number to 24 unless I’ve missed something. 

A Canada win and a Panama-Mexico draw means we’re 100% in. 2/3 would be able to pass us, but not all 3.

Vitoria out. Buchanan already served a suspension for 2nd card, so now he's one away from suspension again.

A Canada triumph and Mexico draw and you are qualified.  Don't see a Mexico draw, they will defeat Panama or Martino is out

Not fact, but if its determined his heart issue was the result of Covid he would have to miss at least 3 months in accordance with German guidelines.

In 2014 qualifying Mexico were in the Intercontinental playoff.

Perhaps it's time people stop assuming they will always waltz through Concacaf and qualify.
