Agreed although I would hate to see him move up and then sit on the bench or get stuck in the reserves. It has happened to a few Canadians over the past few years. When Davies, obviously an exceptional talent, left VWFC, he was dominating in MLS. Kone played well for Montreal, but he has yet to dominate. Another season of improvement similar to what he had this past season would not hurt one bit, and it might increase his transfer value. Of course, Montreal could get an offer which they cannot refuse . . . What is Kone's current contract status with Montreal? If he's locked in to another year playing for peanuts ($65k in 2022) it may be worth a move even if he doesn't move right into the starting lineup for his new team. I’m with you that it’s sort of intriguing to see how he progresses next year with Montreal. Maybe a purchase with a loan back at the start of the season would be a good move for all parties. InglewoodJack
Huge. I wonder what the transfer fee is- Mihailovic got $6M, so if this is the record for Montreal, it’s above that. Watford are currently 5 points out from automatic promotion, hope they go on a post World Cup run. Dominic94, jhoops__ and Jack1997

And as I said up the thread, not super surprising considering what English clubs, even in the Championship, have paid for players, even players unproven there. RS
Kind of ironic that the plan seems to be to fast-track him to Serie A given that his current team's owner also owns a Serie A team. WestHamCanadianinOxford
I love Bilic his new manager personality-wise. dyslexic nam
Not thinking about Serie A yet - Watford is in 4th spot and could end up back in the EPL. The seem to be one of those on-the-cusp clubs that pops up there occasionally. Jack1997 and Ruffian
