I said fuck it and jumped at a seat that I found. Totally different than what I started looking for:  First row, at the top of the 18 yard box, behind Canada's bench. (I think anyways)  (Section 138, row A)

I'm awaiting info from Concacaf on a ticket (inside thing), but if that falls through I'm gonna get a single in the lower bowl hopefully behind the Canada bench, if I can figure out which bench it is.  It's easier to get good tickets when you're solo.

Safe travels to Nashville in the next 1-2 days!

Before the match Sunday...how does the above sound?

Thanks, very excited!  I wish more people here could have made it.  The Americans shouldn't think Canada doesn't have supporters if there's a small contingent of Canadians there

This should be Canadian bench.

I'm aiming for Costa Rica away.

Would be fun.  I saw Costa Rica home vs Haiti in 2015 for Qualifying.  I recall it being pretty cheap, brand new stadium, though not particularly nice tbh.  Very safe, but then I was also "supporting" Costa Rica.  If you go, just remember you cannot walk the entire building.  I like to take "laps" either pre-game or at half time.  Well, I hit a wall (literally) and ended up walking down some stairs or whatever, next thing I knew I was outside!  Had to talk my way back into the stadium.

Away game in Mexico City? Who knows what could happen. Could end up hiding a loonie in the Mexico team locker room. Or getting escorted home in a riot bus.
just saying.

I'd be interested in this if it's at the right time for me, could be lots of fun.  I've been to 2 games at Azteca, but never national games.  I saw a random game and a classico between America & Chivas.  I've also been to a Pumas match.  Always fun, always safe.  I mean it's still Mexico City, but I speak spanish and I'm a pretty friendly guy so I've never really gotten into trouble.

In San Pedro Sula we had nothing in terms of security. @Shway , as you suggested, I think group size plays a role as we were only 3 Vs so the CSA didn't bother to do more than get us tickets. The tickets the CSA gave us were in the safest possible section, possibly the most expensive category available, centre-middle of the pitch, but far back, away from the hardcore Honduras supporters. We were right below the journalist including Kurt Larson and Gavin Day.

We felt safe arriving. Leaving, we felt safe too but I'm not sure we would have felt safe had Canada had won or drawn.

---

I did nothing in San Pedro Sula except go to the game.

Guatemala City is great. San Pedro Sula...not so much.

---

Hope all this information helps those considering a trip south.

I'm thinking of doing the trip again.

January is when it is coldest here, and it's either fly to B.C. or fly south.

This time obviously, I would go from San Pedro Sula to San Salvador.

Wow, so you've already done this before, that's awesome.  I'm already THIS CLOSE to buying a flight down there for those matches.  So, you think it's worth just contacting CSA and asking about tickets?  Obvs I'd wanna avoid the supporters section, that's just smart.  I sat among the Honduras (or was it SAL?) fans in LA when Canada played them in Gold Cup, and they gave me lots of s*** but it was also all good natured.

I'm thinking of going to San Pedro Sula for like 1-2 days, then maybe hitting the north coast of Honduras, La Ceiba perhaps for another couple days.  Then fly to San Salvador, google says the bus would be 8+ hours, which means it's probably more like 12-14 with stops and traffic...plus a little riskier, no thanks.

Then spend like 1-2 days in San Salvador, then another couple days on the southern/western coast of El Salvador.

I think this could be tons of fun, and as long as no one is an aggressive drunk (or stupid) then it really shouldn't be a big deal.  I've travelled a lot, I speak Spanish, as I said above I'm a friendly Canadian, my main thing is, once you leave the stadium, no messing about...you leave.  I mean these places aren't the safest in the world but it's also about the situations you put yourself in, if you go straight from the match back to your hotel, presumably in a safer part of town, then there's really just chance that something would happen.  The same chance that something could happen in Colombia (where I go frequently), New York, DC, LA or just about anywhere else.

Things change so fast with COVID. Bump this after our November matches but I would love to go down in January.

Fellow fans...first time posting here. Been a long time fan following the team but I don't have habit of participating in forums (any forums in fact, not referring to only to this one).

I've been to pretty much every home game for almost 20 years now, but this round would be looking for away games for first time. Saw a couple of people here interested for Azteca next month; would be interested for that one as well depending on travel restrictions, tickets, etc...

I had the chance of being part of the group who went to the WCQ game in Mexico City back in March 2016. I highly recommend going. One of my best trip ever.

Hi Joe and Christian, any idea how one goes about getting tickets to the Mexico City game?

Not sure yet on my end, but have been checking on the web to see when they are up for sale (nothing yet from what I see). Also want to see if there is a group going on this leg and if that is the case, to sit in same section of Canadian fans.

@ShralpShralpShral @Walnut444 @Joe1973

First the FMF wants to sell tickets to their WNT home match against Colombia at Azteca:

http://www.sopitas.com/deportes/estadio-azteca-seleccion-mexicana-aforo-75-por-ciento-vs-colombia-canada-honduras/amp/

They are allowing 75% capacity (a max of 65 000).

Expect tickets for the MNT vs Canada to go on sale just before or just after that match later this month.

2 of the 3 guys from the World of Concacaf podcast went to all 3 US matches in the last window.

Starts around 20 minute mark. https://bit.ly/3Eq1Lit

They had no safety issues in El Salvador or Honduras. Though, they said the US embassy & US soccer helped with getting them to the stadium. They also didn't stray more than a block or two from their hotels. Covid wise, they said it was taken more seriously than what they experienced in Nashville.

Otherwise, most of it was talking about the great and cheap food they ate. They'll go back to San Pedro Sula just for the food from Power Chicken.

Those are some good guys Donald and Eric. Certainly the world travelers. And yes, having gone to Nashville for the match Covid around town certainly was not being taken seriously. All you had to do was walk down Broadway to see that.

I listened to the podcast last night, thanks for sharing.  Quite enjoyed it.  If it weren’t for Covid, I could be talked into going just for Power Chicken.  That could have been the 2021 version of Philip’s Bakery or Benny’s.
