I went back and looked on the twitter because I was not sure what no he was wearing--but see he stays with #17, the designated number for Canadians in Spain. Granada has a very full roster with coverage in all positions (last year, especially, they suffered at CB and DM). And they have brought up some good kids from their u-19s and B team. They may still end up selling or loaning out a few guys (Boye), but as they sit they are ready to go, there is competition in all positions, the team looks sprite and positive, I sense a good vibe. ahmedou

Same pitch our women played the preps for the Olympics. Watched it on 2x. Pretty uninvolved, but it was garbage minutes. Too small a sample size. Nice to see him on the field for the equalizer. He was positioned well to clean up had his teammate not gotten a head to it. That was a terrific header, btw. ahmedou

Do you put the speed back to normal when he's on the ball? DeRo_Is_King, ahmedou and Canuckia 1

Unnamed Trialist
Played the second half in an attacking 3 in a friendly vs. Al Nassr, played last Sunday in southern Spain. They won 1-0 on a 1st half goal, then their keeper stopped a penalty. Tomorrow the 8th they play their last pre-season friendly in their home stadium vs. Al Wehda. The league starts next midweek, on the 15th which is a national holiday. johnyb, Obinna, Canuckia and 5 others 6
Unnamed Trialist
Played the second half today vs. Al Wehda from Mecca, 1-1 draw and they won on penalties. No report names the penalty takers, but one paper says that Granada could not get a winner 2nd half despite the drive and impetus from Corbeanu and Weissman (the Israeli striker who is back from loan to Serie A). Very nice pic of Theo leading the story on the Granada CF website: https://www.granadacf.es/noticias/el-granada-cf-campeon-del-trofeo-ciudad-de-granada-en-penaltis-1-1 johnyb, Kadenge, dyslexic nam and 8 others 9
Unnamed Trialist
They play the inaugural match in Spanish 2nd tomorrow, home to Albacete. Corbeanu is healthy as is most of the roster. Granada has the second highest roster value in 2nd, and the top three are the 3 that relegated last year, along with Cadiz and Almería. I predict that any of the top 10-12 in value and prestige could promote, they'll be in a tight race probably until the final month to even make the promotion playoff. I rewatched part of the stream of their last friendly vs. the Saudi team, he had a couple of late long shots, one right foot, then the left, had some nice runs as a wing down the right and had to be fouled, the commentators liked his two-footed skill and speed, called him one of the positive points of the game. Unnamed Trialist
He just came on m 63, attacking wing… it's 1-2 they're losing at home. narduch, johnyb, ahmedou and 2 others 4
Unnamed Trialist
Lost by that score despite 65% possession, 21 total shots and the rival keeper stopping 9. ahmedou and johnyb
Macksam
Well, at least he came on the 63rd minute rather than the age old story in this thread of him subbing on at injury time where he manages one touch. ahmedou and Obinna 1
dyslexic nam
I would still hope that Theo could pin down a starting spot in the Segunda. La Liga obviously seemed like a bridge too far last season but it would be good to see him become a consistent starter at this level. lowlander, Obinna, ahmedou and 1 other 3
Unnamed Trialist
They just picked up a 19 year old Spanish striker, Siren Diao, from Atalanta on loan. Could mean more competition, or else they wanted to get him before selling or loaning out one of the many strikers they have on the roster, like Boyé. ahmedou
Unnamed Trialist
Didn't get on as Granada beat Racing Ferrol 0-1. Granada does have a deep squad and, as I have said, I think they'll promote directly, or playoff for sure. Making his minutes even in 2nd hard to find, he'll have to work hard. johnyb and ahmedou
Unnamed Trialist
Stayed on the bench as Granada lost to visiting Huesca 1-3. Reports say there were reffing errors, but also rate the entire Granada squad low. Hopefully as they try to shake things up they'll choose him more. lowlander, costarg, narduch and 4 others 4
Unnamed Trialist
He came on m 64 home to Deportivo de La Coruña, finally back in 2nd, was 1-1 and it stayed that way. Didn't watch. dyslexic nam, costarg and ahmedou 2
dyslexic nam
Rated 7.1 on FotMob which is good for a substitute (it’s higher than any other sub rating for either team) so hopefully he impressed the coach. Unnamed Trialist
He's subbed on m 69 for Granada vs Malaga, they scored the 2-1 to go up shortly afterwards. No idea how he's doing. Unnamed Trialist
Ends 2-2… Granada missed a penalty to win in the final minute. Not a lot to say about him, he was mostly defending and working for the team. blueseeka
I watched it. It was another Corbeanu crazy game. Came on at 69' game tied 1-1 77' Good Corbeanu - comes flying into a cross for a shot on goal. Uzuni scores on rebound. 2-1 Granada 90'+1 Bad Corbeanu - wild slide tackle while defending outside box. Slid cleats up. He gets a yellow and Malaga gets a dangerous free kick. Free kick results in corner which Malaga scores 2-2 90'+6 Good Corbeanu- takes the corner for Granada. Ball lands perfect in box and defender takes down Granada player which results in penalty. Granada misses penalty Game ends 2-2 I have always thought he is the best corner kicker in the CMNT system.
