This allows de ligt to slide further over and cover davies. De ligt is great at running channels so he has a CB who is suited for covering that gap behind him. They actually play 4 at the back when out of possession and 3 when in possession, with Davies moving upfield and Stanisic shifting to RCB from his RFB spot. It's an asymmetrical back 4. But in moments of quick transition when davies is high up the field, they still play 3 atb out of possession until they can regroup and get shape and then the go into a back 4. These are the moments we are talking about as to why we may potentially be worried with davies as a LB for the national team. The CMNT ability to transition quickly and follow runners into the channel left by davies is incredibly difficult for vitoria and miller. Kennedy's pace seems to be the best option for these transition moments.

As for the RB/RCB part of the equation, we are fortunate to have Johnston doing the job baulderdash77

As for the RB/RCB part of the equation, we are fortunate to have Johnston doing the job That D mid does a great job at stopping the opposing mid from playing the ball into the open space that davies leaves open and can sometimes help cover him, but quite often theres too much ground to cover for a dmid to chase down a fast striker who runs off our LCB and into the LB space etc. The LCB will have to follow the runner in this scenario. An example of this is moroccos second goal vs us in the WC. Its a bit different because we are playing 3atb but the striker runs off vitorias shoulder and then its a footrace with Kamal to get to the ball first. It doesnt matter what type of Dmid we have as a dmid wouldnt be that deep to get in the footrace to begin with.
red card
A pair of Canadian athletes at the top of their respective sports have made their friendship public the only way they know how: with a jersey swap. Arizona Cardinals rookie linebacker Jesse Luketa was in Munich to watch Bayern beat PSG. The two have apparently cultivated a friendship over the last couple of years, connecting over their shared backgrounds. Luketa’s family immigrated to Canada from the Democratic Republic of Congo and was born in Edmonton., later moving to Ottawa. Luketa left home at 14 to attend high school in Erie, Penn. to fulfill his football dreams. https://3downnation.com/2023/03/09/nfl-linebacker-jesse-luketa-performs-jersey-swap-with-canadian-soccer-super-star-alphonso-davies/ Strait Red, Approve My Account Pls, johnyb and 4 others

GasPed
Today Bayern was in the 3-5-2 and Davies was LWB opposite Cancelo as RWB. Very offensive lineup and it showed in the game and the result. johnyb

Stryker911
Despite popular opinion. Apparently Sane actually respects Davies. Puts him alongside some legends in building the perfect player. I guess he just doesn't have any vision to see Davids wide open all the time.
