Not in the line up today for Bayern

On the bench according to their lineup post.

I will have to watch, once OM is done. They seemed to be playing a modified 3 at the back in other game, at times at least.  Guerreiro would probably be a better passer out of that.

Bayern up 0-2 already, so it might not matter.

Edit: Attack against defence drill and 0-4 at half so not the best game to judge. 4

Have Champions League in the week and Davies did play what is essentially Wednesday morning for us.  So we will if he gets some time against Dinamo Zagreb.

Olise just scored off a rebound of Davies' shot.  0-5.

The latter came on just before that in the 65'

Davies' shot (right footed just outside the box) was really good one labelled for the bottom far corner - GK had to make a great diving save, and rebound went straight to Olise.

Looks like Phonzie  has been working on striking with his right foot.  He is more comfortable going with that option now and that should improve his chances of scoring when he cuts in vs going wide left. Also more difficult to defend when he does attack down the flank. I watched the game yesterday after he subbed in and he had a very strong performance.

Got tickets today for Barça hosting Bayern Munich on 23 October. In the Olympic Stadium, which is a poor venue, a factor that has hurt us.

Of course hoping that Phonzie plays, but we'll see. That would put him at LB against Lamine Yamal, which would be rather beautiful to watch.

Historically, Bayern is our worst rival, the only major European rival we have a clear losing record against. In fact, considering our historical record vs. Madrid is almost even, BM are Barça's worst rival ever anywhere. No team has a better record than Bayern vs. Barça. amongst those with more than a one-off somewhere. We can't figure them out. We have had more embarrassing losses vs others (losing the final 4-0 to Milan in 94 was worse than that nasty 2-8 in a Covid bubble), but Bayern has our number. I think, however, with Hansi Flick as coach, with former BM and Bundesliga players (Lewandowski, Olmo), we may find another level of motivation.
