I am not sure about now, but at the time, Holland was restrictive about dual nationalities. If you married someone from another country you could obtain dual nationality, but if you wanted to naturalize in Holland, you had to renounce your old citizenship. I am not 100% sure that Jonathan De Guzman did this, but I am fairly certain based on things he said. Jaden is eligible from a FIFA rules standpoint, but I am not sure if he is or can obtain Canadian citizenship. red card
16 year old son of Henrik Sedin is a MF with the Whitecaps academy. His short-term goals are to play for the Caps and a national team. Though, he got obessed with the sport watching Sweden at the 2018 World Cup. Strait Red, toontownman, johnyb and 5 others

Canadian Chuck
Orange County SC central midfielder Ben Norris has US and Canadian emojis in his Instagram bio. Recently made his USL Championship (better level than MLS Next Pro) debut which is quite decent for a 16-year-old. Presumably eligible for the U17 World Cup for either US or Canada. Has never been with US youth teams. Xavier., Kadenge, Borjans Sweatpants and 4 others
Canadian Chuck
US goalkeeper depth isn't what it used to be. Outside of Turner their future depth isn't really that better than Canada's. If Odunze gets a run of Championship starts he'll be good enough for the USMNT bench and he's just 20. Hard to see him filing a switch to Canada unless he's the caliber of a Jayson Leutwiler. Canadian Chuck
No one on the initial 20-player roster for US U17 qualifiers was from a USL setup. All from MLS or Europe. So a good chance he is being overlooked by the American federation rather than they are aware of him. Dominic94 and Borjans Sweatpants

Maybe he stalls but this is a guy who signed a pro contract at 14, was playing as a starting keeper in MLS at 17, and has already made his national team debut. Keeper is one of those positions where a guy like Slonina could relegate another keeper to backup for a decade. That can be a deterrent for a guy who wants a better shot at the starting job. Definitely a good point. Odunze is probably good enough to eventually reach a point where he gets invited to a B-team Gold Cup or low-level Nations League qualifier against a minnow, without having a clear chance at the USMNT #1. The US has one of the broadest call-up lists anywhere, handing them out like candy. And he's already been in multiple USMNT friendly camps. Would have to decide if taking that risk is worth it to possibly become their next Ethan Horvath or Sean Johnson.

Odunze played for the US at a youth World Cup so unfortunately would have to file a one-time switch with FIFA just to be named to a camp, which one can assume he isn't ready to do yet

And this is key for Canada. Because let's be honest, the number 1 and number 2 isn't solidified after Borjan calls it quits...and thats soon. Some say Crepeau but (God willing) he can get back to playing the way he used too. And St. Clair although great, hasn't been able to showcase to say that "yea thats mine".... So Canada might look like the "easy road" to Odunze vs the "trials and tribulations" of the USA road. Dominic94
Chicago also had a replacement for Slonina who is also the same age and highly rated, they turned down transfer offers for him before he even played a game with the first team. I also believe they have a highly rated GK in Barca’s academy in Spain… I’ll say this again, people will be floored over the next 5 years at the amount of high end American prospects that are coming. There are many highly rated duals and they will lose quite a few of them for various reasons.
