I didn't watch. Nice atmosphere in Burgos, despite being just above freezing.

See he came on m. 64, just after their first goal. His, in combination with Abdon, is quite nice. They are into the final 16 of the Cup, so far all teams through are top flight (rest being played today).

Next round is midweek in 10 days. In league they are home to Celta next Saturday.

He will face Tenerife who are currently 9th out of 22 in LaLiga2.

Flying from the Balearic Islands to the Canary Islands; that's a real midweek away trip like he used to have to do in MLS.

Thanks for posting. They are provisionally scheduled for this round of 16 match for Wednesday the 17th.

Tenerife eliminated the Liga team from the Canary Islands, Las Palmas, for me they are still very tough, big stadium, and as you say, longish flight, 3.5 hours (longest internal Spain flight is San Sebastián to Tenerife, pushing 5 hours). All other Liga teams got other Liga teams in the round of 16, except Barça.

That's a cool story. Yesterday Sunday, Unionistas de Salamanca (a third-tier team founded by fans 10 years ago after the historical Salamanca team went under) had tied Villareal after regular time, as they were about to go into extra periods the extra lighting failed, they postponed the extra 30 until this afternoon. Unionistas held, went to a long penalty round, won; then after wildly celebrating, sat with the tv on in the dressing room, still in gear, as they drew Barça at home in the cup.

Here are the two tweets, winning the penalty round, drawing Barça.

Listed as the lone striker in a 5-4-1 home to Celta, starting in half an hour (4.15pm local time).

I am a bit surprised as I think Muriqi is ready, then they are at home and tend to line up with two up top. Lately though, they are getting some attacking options from a few mids, Antonio Sánchez and Manu Morales, so maybe they are hoping for that.

For the rival Luca de la Torre is not starting, Jonathan Bamba ex Lille is off at the African Cup.

Long pass into Gionvanni Gonzalez into the right, he first times the pass in right from the air, and Larin, hiding behind the CB, crosses just in front and puts it under the keeper. m. 44, 1-1.

Celebrates wildly with the supporters on that end, apparently asking permission from the security guys, then I think he goes all the way back and greets his keeper, nice.

Poor Cyle....cant catch a break.  He seems like he is coming out of a slump, scores and gets dragged for not scoring more than one.  Lets see where does that put him on the Canadian all time leading scorers in La liga??

Exactly, the chorus line chirps on cue, instead of doing their twirls and shutting up like asked. He ties the game on a nice goal, proves he has broken his scoring slump (also scored in the Cup this week), and they get on his case because he didn't score two more.

It's like they have really never watched football before.

It is not even logical, this business of "they would have won" or "he should have gotten 3". Any change in any play at any time alters the entire game from that point on.

There's little chance he's getting another game where he plays the full 90 minutes and Mallorca are so dominant. If you're happy with him being a mediocre La Liga striker that's fine and dandy but any self-respecting striker would be frustrated with 1 goal on 7 shots, 5 of which were on target.
