Up against Trabzonspor in the Conference League. Hung out to dry by his backline for a free header and therefore losing 1-0 at half.   Red Star probably need something from after losing their first game.

Poor coaching for a team desperate for goals to leave a goal scoring Serbia international on the bench!!

Ends 2-1 against.  Not much chance on the 2nd - a screamer from ex-Villa man Trezeguet after a defensive giveaway.

On a side, old-man-yelling-at-clouds note:  Why do English commentators say "Crvena zvezda" not "Red Star" but can't seem to say Davies' name the way he does.

Lost 2-1 in the Europa League.

Red Star are bottom of their group on 3 points but Trabzonspor and Monaco are only on 6.

They play both - having lost to both earlier by one goal.  So a couple decisive wins keeps them in the Europa League, one and some help keeps them playing in Europe.

He had no chance on the winning goal, but probably could've done better on the first. He made a decent, reflex stop from close range, but pushed the rebound right back in front for the attacker to tap home. He could have possibly held the initial shot, or at least pushed the rebound away from the goal.

A few weird scenarios but most easily, Red Star must win tonight by 2 goals or win by scoring 3 or more goals to keep  Europa League advancement in their own hands.  Milan could be busy.

This will give them the tie breaker over Trabzonspor on level points.

The team's lack of challenge in their own league is biting them in the ass.

Even worse for them, they lost to a team in Israel whose league is also really top heavy- Maccabi Haifa and Tel Aviv practically win every year, barring a few other clubs who've had short streaks of success.

You're seeing this too with Rangers and Celtic who have gotten absolutely demolished in Champions league too.

1-1 at half.  Checked the goals.

The goal against was a free kick that deflected off the wall (I think) and wrong-footed Borjan.

Need 2 goals.

Edit:  Ends 2-1 for Red Star

Result elsewhere means if they win next week away to Monaco, they are guarenteed Conference League.  If they win and Trabzonspor don't in the other game, they will stay in the Europa Leauge.  They can no longer catch the top team who they have the tie breaker over.

Red Star are just not very good.

Currently down 2-0 away to Monaco, need a win to stay in Europe.

Borjan maybe could have been off his line quicker on the first, maybe.  But no pressure on the crosser and the second came from a tame headed clearance from his defender.

Edit: Lose 4-1 and are out.

Wow if only they had a promising young talent who could score goals for them. Wonder who that player could be

Now I have even less reason to wear my shiny new Red Star jersey anywhere outside my house, ever.
