Every European competition counts for ranking teams and that's where they get the UCL. Right now, English teams are 4 points above Italian team, but both have lost a team in the Europa League playoffs. Thing is if Italian teams do better than English teams this season like they did last season ,Italy would probaly get its fourth UCL spot in 2 years.
