He is already 25 and I still see a lot of deficiencies in his game. If he can eventually win a starting spot at Midtjylland, I think that puts him in a position to help Canada qualify for WC 2022. He can help Canada to qualify but to start the Hex, they are gonna have to play well which means he is gonna have to step up.

Vince193
His coach at Midjytlland (oh god I'm sorry) is leaving to join David's club, KAA Gent. I don't know if this changes his status at the club depending on who they hire to step in as new coach.
Jith12
Midtjylland are apparently cutting his loan to Fredericia short so that he can play in the Superliga once their winter break ends. It seems that he has been playing well in the second tier. He was described by his coach at Fredericia as being "the best centre-back in the league". baulderdash77
That’s very good for James. He’s a key piece for us and to be back to 1st tier again is important. Also important is his multi year deal. Addona, king1010, Keegan and 2 others

Keegan
I can’t believe he hasn’t been called. Anyone know the reason? His club team won’t play for another few weeks and he even has a teammate going into camp with Costa Rica. apbsmith and Addona 1

I’d argue he’s probably more “in season” than the others called. Corazon and Shway
Kadenge
Right now he is playing at the highest level of all our CBs and if he continues to get minutes should be our #1 CB for the GC Blackjack15 and Northvansteve
BrennanFan
its better for him to settle into a starting role with his club. he looked like one of his teams better players today. he easily dispossessed opposing players and also makes runs into the midfield and also sent in some good long balls to the wingers. they also look for his head on set plays, he had a good header today from a sharp angle but the keeper made a good save. havent watched the danish league in a while, but today it looked like mid table MLS team quality. and thats surprising given Midtjylland is in the title race. a defender in MLS faces more dangerous attackers, but overall the gameplay seemed smoother, more diverse passing and positional interchange. his team plays a 3-4-3 and i really liked it, i think it could work for us. it was very fluid, whenever james pushed up someone covered for him and still there were lots of options going forward, and when defending it quickly became a backline of 5. My comment was more re GC. James is also the only CB in JH's player pool that has recent GC experience. Edgar is the other but as mentioned by others will probably not see the field. He also scored in Honduras in WC qualifying. When was the last time that happened ? Edited March 17, 2019 by Kadenge
shamrock
Very strange career-trajectory this guy has had. But now he's playing for a Danish title-contender, he must be a starter for our MNT come Gold Cup.
BenFisk'sBiggestFan
He is just starting to get into the starting rotation at his club. Jith12
James was the in-stadium man of the match for yesterday's match and was also named to the Superligaen best XI for the week. Seems like he had an impressive debut. https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/superliga/fcm-debutant-blev-kampens-spiller-forsoeger-vinde-alt dyslexic nam, apbsmith, Chad_Impact and 8 others 10
dyslexic nam
Would be awesome if he could use this as a platform to take his game to the next level. At 25, he has a bunch of years ahead of him and will be in his prime in 2022. Keep on truckin MJ! apbsmith

LeoH037
I was sold on James the day Canada played Honduras in San Pedro Sula and saw how he kept frustrating both Elis and Quioto, who could find no way to get past him. apbsmith and Kadenge
