shorty
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canada_men's_international_soccer_players You can sort this list by first and last cap, and get Atiba (2003-2023) --> Mark Watson (1991-2004) --> Gerry Gray (1980-1991) --> Sam Lenarduzzi (1968-80) but then the list seems to be incomplete. Either that or we assembled rosters of one-offs for each tournament, which seems unlikely. (This is admittedly without confirming that each played with other, but it seems likely they did. Plus some of the final/first matches line up) GasPed, johnyb and footballfreak

Aird25
What a fantastic career! Though from a Canada perspective, ending it abroad, rather than having a final hey day at home is a bit disappointing.

Both pathways seem to lead to Gerry Gray though. Random musings from that list. I can't believe DeVos, Brennan, and Jackson all finished at exactly 49 caps. I doubt any of them care, but I love a nice round number. If Atiba plays in NL, he will forfeit his title of the highest prime number of caps to Julian de Guzman. rydermike
While today is his last game, hopefully at the Gold Cup match, he can bring out the match ball or something to get a standing O. Would be nice to see him on the bench at the match as an honourary assistant coach or something as well Edited June 18, 2023 by rydermike Fresh Prince of MTL and cornerkick

These are the kinds of contributions to the Canadian soccer landscape that I'm so excited for in the coming years. Top class players coming back and getting involved in their communities, media spaces, coaching, scouting, etc. This is what builds a footballing culture. We're desperate for these kind of stories and I'm so pumped to see it. Way to go 'Atibaba'! Corazon, TGAA_Star, Kadenge and 7 others

Treppy2
There was a really nice interview with Atiba on CBC yesterday. It can be heard here: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-63-the-current/clip/16092690-how-soccer-star-atiba-hutchinson-chased-beautiful-dream A couple of points from the interview: He and his family still live in Turkey. The "offside" call in the Gold Cup match against the U.S. was the worst call he's seen in his career. He sidestepped a question on whether drones were used during his time with the CMNT. He's looking for "good results" in the upcoming friendlies. Thank you, Atiba! narduch, sebdeserio, NVsoccer and 2 others 3
