Nice get for L1O, even if it's just for the short term. Saturday Woodbridge and Sigma play each other. That game will probably feature Stillo and Quillan Roberts in the nets. Get to that game CPL scouts!!!

Expect another big name keeper (by L1O standards) to sign within the week. Should make for an exciting 2nd half of the season.

Clubs are taking the CCL entry seriously and are looking to improve. Love it!

Yeah, hope/think this is a harbinger of things to come... the CPL will make leagues like L1O better/more professional as players bounce back and forth between them, or like this case, out of luck players abroad use it as a gateway back to a domestic contract.

Yeah, CPL and Voyageurs Cup should help grow the league. Hopefully it will also jumpstart interest in forming other D3 leagues across the country.

Also sorry to mess with the thread topic.

Crazy. One of the other google hits on him is this forum discussing him going to a camp.  Makes you wonder if someone actually saw him playing for the Wigan reserves.  Shades of "George Weah's" "cousin" Ali Dia?

CPL teams have academies? When did that become a thing?

York just announced theirs. Not sure if it is is still pay to play. Its based out of Aurora.

Forge (Sigma) and Cavalry (Foothills) have defacto academies.

I believe Ottawa and Pacifc don't have academies but have made cooperation aggreements with local youth sides.

Halifax ran an U-23 team this summer that played a bunch of friendlies.

So it does appear that the league is moving in that direction organically.
