Yes. No sports organization in any pro team sport can win by fielding a squad of all 18-22 year olds. And, ultimately it would be counter productive as far as their progress and development.

I have to disagree with this, massively!

You need to play quality young players as often as you can, on the highest level possible. You can easily determine after a few games who can handle the pressure, who needs to be brought in slowly and who is not capable enough (yet).

Giving kids a chance will do wonders for their morale, the morale within the academy and younger kids and will hopefully switch the club structure and attention even more so to developing their own players.

I know this board likes their facts so I have one that will blow your mind. The average squad age of the top 5 teams in the Eredivisie. Please not that this is the complete first team squad (including 3rd and sometimes 4rd goalkeepers who are getting on in age etc.)
