Guest Ed
Bayern was in the middle of a title race (which they incidentally lost) when they declined on Donovan. Although he did well in exhibition, his appearances in Bundesliga 1 games (6 substitute appearances) were simply not productive (no goals or assists) and his pending transfer was declined as he was not considered worth 8M at the time. He was not going to put any of Luca Toni, Miroslav Klose or the new signing (known at the time) Olic from Hamburger SV out of a job. And as has been posted many many times, Landon likes living in SoCal, makes a good living, is the best player by far on the USMNT and has enjoyed great success with them. Why does he HAVE to go to Europe??
