I would assume Mexico would have beaten Australia in the following Play-Off and would've had a good chance against what would've been a poor Argentine side at that time. Would the Canuck side of the time have coped well in that World Cup? If only George Graham had managed England instead of Graham Taylor. Graham's counter-attack style would've suited the Qualifiers better than Taylor. If only France hadn't have conceded at the very end against Bulgaria. Francfe was just emerging at that time.
