That's from his Twitter feed.Great news for Jason Bent becoming Assistant with 1st Team @ TFC .Very excited too as I am inheriting his impressive U19 team as Head Coach.
Do not mistake the promotion of Dichio as a promotional effort. Although it is good PR to keep the cult hero on in some capacity, the u19 program is vital to the future of the club. TFC isn't going to put a figurehead in charge.
Dichio, by all accounts, is a very good coach and a coach that commands respect from his players -- players, it should be noted, that were at an impressionable age when the big man scored in the 24th minute against Chicago.
In a competitive recruiting environment it doesn't hurt to have Dichio shaking mom and dad's hand -- he has a song, after all. How many of us have a song?
